Sad Kodak Moment

Once upon a time there was a company that was known for the saying "You press the button we do the rest." Everyone knew Kodak. Everyone knew Kodachrome, Ektachrome and Kodacolor. Everyone knew TRI-X, PLUS-X, Panatomic-X and we knew when to use them. If you started out the day with Panatomic-X loaded in you camera you had to work in bright light or on a tripod until you finished the roll. Finishing a roll often took awhile. You would not waste film - it was money. I miss the smell of fixer and the endless hours in the darkroom. I loved seeing the world in amber light.

It's All in the Exposure

Photography has taken many twists and turns in the past 150 years. I have been in this field for 40 years and one thing that has not changed in photography is exposure. It seems understanding exposure can be somewhat confusing. I will be entering technical information on my blog that may prove helpful to those that would like to understand some of the photographic challenges. I am open to questions and will illustrate my information with photographic examples.

This photograph is from 1972 - taken with Tri-X 120 film with my Hasselblad.

New at this

This is a new experience for me - not sure how I feel about this. I hope this will be a place to discuss photography. I am interested in sharing ideas about my passion. This will include the process from exposure to the finished print and maybe beyond.
